Have you ever wondered why some nights you sleep soundly, while on others, sleep seems just out of reach? Or perhaps you’ve noticed how a poor night’s sleep affects your productivity, mood, or energy the next day. Many of us have felt the impact of sleepless nights, but what if you could understand—and change—some of the daily factors that keep you from getting the rest you need?
We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to be part of a study that explores these very questions! We’re inviting you to join our large community research project focused on understanding sleep and lifestyle in working adults, with the goal of identifying both facilitators and obstacles to better sleep. As part of this study, you’ll be helping to uncover the patterns that affect sleep and well-being for working adults like yourself.
Why Should You Participate?
The insights gained from this study can have benefits for you and the larger NUS community. Most data gathering exercises are designed to profit a limited few. The DNA of this study drives it to benefit community mental wellbeing and work-life balance. Here’s what you can gain from joining:
Personal Insight into Your Sleep Patterns
By participating, you’ll get a deeper look at your own sleep habits and factors that may be helping or hindering your sleep quality. The Oura ring you will receive is currently one of the most accurate, if not the most accurate sleep tracker you’ll find on the market. Through it and its advisories you’ll be able to see how your lifestyle choices, like physical activity, and stress patterns, influence your sleep.
Help Shape Workplace Well-Being Initiatives
Your participation will contribute to a clearer understanding of how sleep affects performance, productivity, and overall well-being in the workplace. With your input, NUS will gain local data-driven insights to develop healthier work environments, making it easier for you to balance productivity with well-being. This is not an idle promise. There will be a large scale initiative to transform work in 2025 that data from this study will guide.
Contribute to Groundbreaking Research
Sleep is a complex and often overlooked aspect of health, especially in East Asian societies like ours. Comprehensive studies on sleep in large communities of working adults are very rare globally and even more so in Asia. By taking part, you’ll be supporting scientific efforts to create practical, accessible solutions to help people live healthier, more balanced lives.
Actionable Feedback and Tips
Later on, after ‘unblinding’, participants in this study will receive expert insights and tips on lifestyle changes that promote better sleep. Small adjustments in daily routines or behaviors can make a real difference in how well you sleep and how you feel every day.
What’s Involved?
Participation is easy and designed to fit into your busy life. Scan the QR code on our website and get a date.
We designed this study as if we are participants. The sampling of information is guided by our best ideas about ‘as much as necessary, as little as possible’. Rest assured, all data is collected anonymously and handled securely to protect your privacy.
Make a Difference for Yourself and Others
Good sleep is not just a luxury; it’s a foundation for health, well-being, and success. But in today’s fast-paced world, quality sleep is often sacrificed. Your participation in this study is a powerful way to contribute to a healthier community, support scientific advancement, and discover the personal strategies that can lead to better sleep, health and wellbeing.
We invite you to take part in this journey with us. Let’s uncover the secrets to better sleep together and take a step toward a healthier future.
